Job Title: IT Assistant Pay band: 3 / J Location this role could be based: Taipei, Taiwan Department: IT Delivery Contract type: Indefinite Role Purpose To provide efficient IT support services to British Council (BC) Taiwan operations, including management of office IT facilities and support for end user and general IT systems.

To provide administrative services to internal customers to ensure the operation of British Council Taipei offices are not interrupted or delayed by the failure of routine support system.

This role entails overseeing various IT and administrative activities related to back-office systems, resources, inventory, facilities and premise at teaching centers and offsite locations.

The job requires the individual to work in Lin Kou teaching centre in New Taipei City primarily and may need to support other teaching centres in Taipei City when necessary.

Main accountabilities 1.

IT support services • Support IT Officer in delivering effective IT training and induction programmes.

• Provide timely IT support to all users.

• Provide technological support and advise the solution for teaching team to deliver in-house lessons and off-side classes effectively.

• Coordinate IT related issues between Global Service Desk and local users; report and discuss with IT Officer • Ensure that all IT support services are compliant with corporate Global Information Systems policy and standards.

• Provide support in preparing for (including computer & venue set up, procurement & testing of IT equipment, vendor services and monitoring of IT equipment) and user support during various events.

Manage housekeeping of office IT equipment and provide effective user support • Manage relevant IT and telephone system vendors and liaise with them directly to ensure office IT network, telephone systems and equipment are in efficient working condition.

• Assist IT Officer in overseeing that GTI Applications and hardware are being used appropriately by all users; report any inappropriate usage of non-GTI applications and hardware to IT Officer immediately.

• Manage all IT mobile equipment as per corporate standards to ensure item safety and good working condition.

• Ensure that IT resources are effectively managed and used cost-effectively, while maintaining a high quality and safe IT working environment 3.

Support Office Administration and Management • Manage office inventories for IT, office furniture & facilities and UK Appointed Staff residences to ensure all records are up-dated on a regular basis (100% accuracy – new items & number need to be recorded and labelled within three days upon arrival of the equipment) • Work with IT Officer and Resource Officer to check and prepare detailed lists to conduct annual inventory check as per BC schedule; for any inventory items to be auctioned, prepare an auction form for each item and oversee the safe keeping of bids as instructed; delete inventory items from the database within one week of auction completion.

• Support the Resources Officer in office administration and premise management work for Teaching Centre and related office procurement including utility and daily supplies per FABS standard processes.

Role specific knowledge and experience 1 year experience of IT related support, especially in Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Office 365, LAN, and wireless network.

Experience of administration support.

(Desirable) Requirements Degree and/or equivalent experience.

Major in IT (Desirable) The British Council systems and global processes operate in English.

Written and verbal proficiency in English is required.

Chinese language fluency Additional Information Conditions of Employment: Local Direct Hire Applications are welcomed from candidates currently in this location with a natural right to work.
