Responsibilities: Drive Design for Manufacturing of NPI products/concepts at module or equipment suppliers and lead activities to optimize product and process designs. Make recommendations for product/process design changes & final assembly standards/limits that have direct impact on final product cost, quality and delivery. Standardize/Modularize FATP assembly equipment/stations ensuring all critical closed loop process controls are in place. Study supplier processes, equipment and fixtures. Find ways to improve. Use FMEAs to define Manufacturing requirements for process design with critical process controls. Perform FMEA and Control Plan reviews of each fixture, equipment and process step, identify all potential failure modes and process risks and drive mitigation steps with suppliers and Product Design teams. Uncover and highlight Manufacturing/Assembly/Test issues to improve product quality/reliability and drive cost reductions at suppliers. Support suppliers to develop, test, and qualify precision, high-yield manufacturing equipment. Work with module and equipment suppliers to prioritize and solve manufacturing & design related issues Work with design engineers to clearly specify and fully document process/manufacturing requirements. Support US colleagues for all Assembly and Test Equipment development, design and qualification , including Active Alignment, EOL, Straylight, etc. Qualifications: 5-7 years experience in DFx, NPI and Manufacturing Process Engineering Role with high-volume automotive manufacturing. Ability to manage and direct supplier engineering teams during development to ensure delivery and quality requirements are met Self motivated, with a proven record of successful execution. Excellent written and verbal skills in English. MS degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering discipline Strong understanding of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, Six Sigma Root Cause Analysis & Process Validation/Capability. Ability to clearly explain technical issues and influence product and process design change with results/data, working with suppliers and client's Engineering teams to arrive at suitable solutions. Strong ability in root cause failure analysis and corrective action planning. Ability to clearly explain technical issues and influence change with results/data. Work independently, strong team player, detail oriented, organized and hands-on. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of SMA and Backend Assembly/Test areas, production fixturing and production line qualification for automotive camera assembly Ability to communicate effectively for worldwide environment Experience with CAD to evaluate product designs and subsequent development of assembly fixtures Record of delivering precision automation solutions for high volume products
