Job Description Quality Assurance Leadership: Lead and manage the quality assurance team, providing strategic direction and oversight across hardware, software, manufacturing, and customer quality.
Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance strategies, standards, and procedures that encompass all stages of product design and development.
Hardware and Software Quality Oversight: Oversee the quality of hardware and software design and development processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review and approve technical specifications, design documents, and testing protocols for both hardware and software components.
Conduct hardware and software design reviews, risk assessments, and verification/validation activities to ensure product reliability and performance.
Manufacturing Quality Management: Monitor and manage manufacturing quality processes to ensure that products are built to design specifications and meet quality standards.
Work closely with manufacturing teams to implement quality control measures, process improvements, and corrective actions.
Conduct audits of manufacturing facilities and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Customer Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality assurance of customer-facing products and services, ensuring that they meet or exceed customer expectations.
Analyze customer feedback and product performance data to identify quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts in response to customer-reported issues.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration between quality assurance, design, engineering, manufacturing, and customer support teams to ensure seamless integration of quality processes across all functions.
Provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM), design for reliability (DFR), and design for customer satisfaction (DFC).
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all quality assurance processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements, such as ISO, FDA, CE, or other industry-specific standards.
Lead risk management activities, including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments, to proactively identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement efforts across hardware, software, manufacturing, and customer quality processes, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices.
Lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize design and manufacturing processes.
Supplier Quality Management: Manage supplier quality to ensure that all components and materials used in product development meet stringent quality standards.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments, and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of all quality assurance activities, including audit reports, test results, and quality metrics.
Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key quality metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Team Development and Leadership: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary quality assurance team, fostering a culture of quality excellence and continuous learning.
Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members, enhancing their skills in quality management, technical communication, and leadership.
The Successful Applicant10+ years of experience in quality assurance, with significant experience overseeing hardware, software, manufacturing, and customer quality.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or equivalent.
Proven experience in managing quality across the entire product lifecycle, from design through manufacturing to customer delivery.
Expertise in risk management techniques, including FMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards in hardware, software, and manufacturing quality.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ CQE) is a plus.
